Project License​

JPam_NEO is published so that aeromodellers can study and understand the project, repair their own timer and, if they wish, build one for personal use.

At the same time, the work behind the project must be protected against unauthorised commercial use, copies without attribution and products that could be mistaken for official JPam_NEO units.

For this reason, technical material, source code and use of the project name and brand are covered separately.

Documentation, hardware and technical material​

The documentation, schematics, guides, images, CAD files, assembly material and other technical content published on this website are distributed under the following licence:

Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International

This licence allows the material to be shared and adapted, provided that its conditions are followed.

What this licence allows​

  • Read and study the documentation.
  • Share the material with proper attribution.
  • Adapt or modify the material for personal use.
  • Build a JPam_NEO timer for personal, non-commercial use.
  • Create derivative documentation, provided it is distributed under the same license.

Main conditions​

Attribution (BY): JPam_NEO and Oterino Original must be credited as the original authors.

Non-Commercial (NC): The material may not be used to sell products, kits, PCBs, documentation or related services without express permission.

ShareAlike (SA): If the material is modified and shared, it must use the same or a compatible licence.

Source code​

When the JPam_NEO firmware and app are published as source code, they will use a separate software licence.

The planned software licence is:

GNU General Public License v3.0

GPLv3 allows the code to be studied, modified and shared. Anyone distributing a modified version of the firmware or app must keep the same licence and make the corresponding source code available.

This prevents JPam_NEO code from being turned into a closed or proprietary derivative.

Commercial use​

The technical material, documentation, schematics, manufacturing files and project identity may not be used commercially without prior permission.

Anyone wishing to manufacture or sell units or kits, integrate JPam_NEO into a commercial product, or use any part of the project commercially must contact us first.

Name and identity​

The names JPam_NEO and Oterino Original, together with their logos, visual identity and official presentation, remain reserved.

Modified, derivative or third-party products must not be presented as official JPam_NEO units without permission.

Practical summary​

You may study JPam_NEO, learn from it, repair your own timer and build one for personal use.

You may not sell copies, kits, circuit boards, derivative documentation or products based on JPam_NEO without permission.

When the source code is released, it may be studied and modified under GPLv3 and its conditions.

Any use of JPam_NEO outside these licence conditions is unauthorised.

Copying, distributing, modifying, selling or commercially exploiting project material without permission may infringe copyright, intellectual property, trademark or other applicable rights.
